1. Who We Are

PhotoSplit Studio ("we", "our", or "the service") is a free, browser-based web application available at photosplitstudio.com. The service is provided free of charge and is designed to help users automatically split multiple scanned photographs from a single scanned image file.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

PhotoSplit Studio does not collect, process, transmit, or store any of the following:

• Your photograph files or any images you upload or process
• The content of any images processed through the tool
• Personal information such as your name, email address, or location (unless voluntarily submitted via our feedback form)

When you select an image file in PhotoSplit Studio, that file is loaded directly into your browser's memory using the standard browser FileReader API. The image data never leaves your device. All detection, cropping, straightening, and color processing operations are performed entirely within your browser's JavaScript engine using the HTML5 Canvas API and Web Workers.

3. Image Processing — Technical Details

To be fully transparent about how your images are handled:

• Image files are read using the browser's FileReader.readAsDataURL() method, which creates an in-memory representation accessible only to the current browser tab.
• All pixel-level analysis (edge detection, bounding box calculation) is performed using CanvasRenderingContext2D.getImageData() — a purely local operation with no network access.
• Image transformation (straightening, color enhancement, format conversion) is performed by writing to an off-screen HTMLCanvasElement in memory.
• When you click "Save All" or download a split, the browser generates a temporary object URL (URL.createObjectURL) directly from the in-memory canvas data. No server is involved.
• When you close or refresh the browser tab, all image data held in memory is immediately and permanently released by the browser's garbage collector.

4. Cookies and Analytics

PhotoSplit Studio itself does not set any first-party cookies and does not use any analytics services (such as Google Analytics) that track your usage of the tool.

However, we use Google AdSense to display advertisements on the site. Google AdSense may set cookies and use similar tracking technologies to serve ads based on your browsing history and interests across other sites. This is standard behaviour for Google's ad network. Google's privacy practices are governed by their own Privacy Policy.

5. Google AdSense and Third-Party Advertising

We are a participant in the Google AdSense programme. Third-party vendors and ad networks, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads to visitors of our site based on their prior visits to our website and other sites on the internet. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your site visit and/or other sites on the internet.

You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You may also opt out of third-party vendor cookie use for personalised advertising by visiting aboutads.info.

6. Feedback Form

If you choose to submit feedback via our feedback form, we collect the name, email address, and message text you provide. This information is stored in a Google Sheets spreadsheet accessible only to the site administrators. We use it solely to review feedback and improve the service. We will never sell, share, or use your contact information for marketing purposes.

7. Children's Privacy

PhotoSplit Studio is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

8. Data Security

Because all photo processing is performed locally in your browser and no image data is transmitted to our servers, the risk of unauthorised access to your images through our service is eliminated by design. Any personal information submitted via our feedback form is stored in a Google Sheets spreadsheet protected by Google's security infrastructure.

9. Your Rights

If you are located in the European Union or United Kingdom, you have rights under the GDPR and UK GDPR including the right to access, correct, or delete any personal data we hold about you (such as feedback form submissions).
